Dog Days is made up of three worlds: Artuven, Doth and Sila Mata. Each world is surrounded by a barrier that seems to stretch on forever and ever. If someone travels too far into one of these barriers, they'll be transported back to the beginning of the barrier magically. The only way to travel between the three worlds is via the Amanzi River on a ferry or boat.
Artuven is the most technologically advanced of the three worlds. As soon as you enter the city, skyscrapers tower over you, leaving long shadows on the ground. The main city is Artuven City, where most people live. There are a few outlying towns, but Artuven City is where it's at! Anything you can think of can be found here; from arcades and movie theaters to businesses and restaurants, it's obvious as to why people would want to come here. The technology is produced between two major companies: SYNTAX and MICROCORP. They are similar in style, as they both mass produce all sorts of technology, but they are constantly battling one another to be the 'top dog' in their field.
Doth is the modern world, and is also the most populated. It has a more 'homey' feel, with its renowned schools and parks spread across the capital city of Lamar. General things like cell phones and televisions are examples of the technology found here, as people tend to live a more laid-back life in Doth. Since it's so highly populated, half of the city is nothing more than a large housing district, where all sorts of living spaces can be rented out or bought. Lamar Academy is the best school within the universe, and many attend in order to learn more about a specific field.
Sila Mata is the most magical world of the three. While some traces of magic have seeped over into Doth and Artuven, it can be found in every corner of Sila Mata. This world has taken on a more medieval feel, with Greenwich being the capital city. Greenwich Castle sits in the middle of the capital, where the 'royal family' lives. The royal family is anything but; it's actually a group of people who were placed into power for their ability to lead with level heads. So while they are not a true royal family, the people feel better calling them such.
Outside of the three worlds one can find the infamous barriers. Artiven's barrier is simply known as 'the desert', because it's just a huge desert that spans as far as the eye can see. A 'magical' oasis can be found within the desert, but somehow it only appears to those who need it the most. Doth's barrier is a massive ocean that is filled with all sorts of marine life. The waters are always calm and the beach - known as Long Beach - is always sunny, regardless of the weather in Doth itself. And finally, Sila Mata's barrier is a large forest called 'Dark Forest', and as the name suggests, it's always dark, even when the sun is shining brightly. Scrag's Lake can be found within, but drinking the water there is probably a bad idea, seeing as no life can be sustained within.
