INFORMATION there's a hole in her heart. it starts out small; the death of her mother bringing it to fruition as a young child. pain filters through the hole, but not physical. emotional. sometimes the pinprick of a hole makes it hard to breathe. but she keeps breathing even though it hurts. mommy wouldn't want her to be upset; she'd want her to live her life to the fullest regardless of the pain. so she lives on. --- but the hole slowly grows. father doesn't look at her anymore. he used to be so loving, caring; but now he stays locked in his office, hidden behind large stacks of paper. she tries to speak to him, to bring him back to the daddy he once was...but he would never be the same, not after his wife's untimely death. he pushes her away. buys her everything she wants, and yet it's never enough. she doesn't want things; she wants love. daddy thinks buying things equals love, but even he truly knows it's nothing more than deflection from the truth. his wife's death left a hole in him, too. --- mom was a celestial spirit mage. she could use special keys to bring spirits from their world to her world, and they were the only friends she had. even after mom's death they would be there for her; aquarius playing with her in the bathtub, mister capricorn reading her stories. they helped fill the hole, but only slightly. she trains hard - learns her mother's magic - all in a dire attempt to continue filling the hole in her heart. but father doesn't care about any of it; he wants more money and not even the frail attempts at magic she could produce would make him see her again. --- fairy tail. it was a place she reads about in magazines. they were a guild-- a place that magic users came together to do good things for the world. she loves the idea of it; a family of mages who want to help other people. they love one another like a true family...something she hasn't had in so very long. she yearns for a family and yet - while surrounded by her own - she feels so alone. fairy tail will fill the ever-growing hole in her heart. it has to. --- father won't let her go. he says she has a duty as his one and only heir. he says she must continue the family business once he's too old to work anymore. but she doesn't want to be a businesswoman like her father; she doesn't want to be locked away in a room buried in paperwork. she wants to help people, to make the world a better place. she wants to get stronger so she can play with her spirit friends more. so she runs away. the hole gets bigger the farther from home she runs. -- natsu dragneel. pink-haired idiot with a blue cat. happy. more than just a name; the cat's name is the embodiment of what she feels when she's around the dragon slayer. he saves her not once - but twice - and she's so enthralled by his magic and how he behaves himself. he's so happy and carefree and she wants to be that way too. the hole in her heart fills when she's around him; she's warm and safe and the hole doesn't make her wheeze and gasp for breath. he turns to leave and she frowns, not wanting to leave his warm side. but he turns back to her and holds out a hand, telling her things would be alright. he takes her to her dream place - fairy tail - and the hole is filled once more. she's home. ABILITIES lucy is a celestial spirit mage, meaning she can summon spirits from the celestial spirit world to fight alongside her. she can call up to three spirits at a time, but it takes a lot of magical energy out of her to do so. the spirits can come and go as they please by their own magical energy, but they tend to only come when called. she can also use her whip very well in a fight.
