APOLLO JUSTICE • words • notes Rocket sunk down against the wall of the Omniplex, grimacing. Where was he? He didn't know. Where were his friends? He didn't know that, either. One minute he was in the Milano, everything was fine, and the next....he was here. He hardly knew where 'here' was, and when he asked, he just got a strange look and told that it was the 'Omniplex'. Strange looks were nothing new, but the fact that he was at a place that he'd never heard of once in his life was. Now, Rocket knew he didn't know every crack and crevice of the galaxy, but he damn well knew most of it, and this d'asted place wasn't anywhere. It didn't exist. He knew it didn't exist because a big building like this would've turned up on some kind of radar. It wouldn't just sink below the eyes of everyone, because someone would want to profit on this. It was an active place, and there were tycoons who'd want this place, there'd be crime and killing and...hell, a popular place like this was a natural cover for assassination. It was so busy that no one would notice. And yet there was nothing. Nothing at all. It was like he'd been scooped up and plopped into another dimension, and the last time that happened, it was nothing good. Bright side? The stupid mutt couldn't talk. Dark side? Damn near everyone was dead. That was one hell of a dark side and not one that he was willing to chance again. Not now, not ever, especially when he didn't... Oh, flark. What if Quill... No. No. He was fine. Dammit, he was fine. He was, wasn't he? Biting hard on his lip, he got up, making a resolute statement - mentally - that he was going to find a way out of here. He was going to find a way home. There had to be some kind of way....but how? Could these people come and go however they pleased? They seemed fine...mostly....loads of Terrans, though. Maybe this was some part of Terra? He'd only know if he asked - wait. That one guy over there somewhat stood out - a confused expression like he was in the same predicament as Rocket was. Hmm. Well. May as well. He put his hands in his pocket and walked over. "Hey. So, let me guess...you just kinda appeared here with no idea why you're here or what's going on either?" |
